IMG Observership / Clinical Attachment and Medical Student Elective in NHS General Practice
Welcome to our IMG Observership and Medical Student Elective Matching Service.
IMG Observership
For many international medical graduates (IMGs), securing a clinical attachment / observership is an important step towards working in the NHS. These short, unpaid placements allow you to understand how UK healthcare works, builds confidence, and can strengthen your CV when applying for jobs.
We only offer Observerships in General Practice because we feel it offers the best experience for IMGs. The practices we use for these placements have been carefully selected because they offer excellent training experiences and are in different locations across the UK
Most IMGs will choose a placement of 4 - 12 weeks but these can be longer or shorter depending on your needs.
The cost of arranging an Observership is £100-200/week depending on placement duration, plus a £50 administration fee.
Medical Student Elective
We also place medical students for elective. The cost and process for this is in line with our IMG Observership programme. We are currently finalising a separate medical student elective agreement.
